My Obedience and God's Faithfulness
Last week, I was reading the story of Abraham and Sarah and the legacy that they each left behind. Their story made me think about my own life and whether or not I am living a life today that testifies of God's promises tomorrow. Do my daily choices reflect what God has said He would do? I never really understood why it was so important to Abraham to buy the Cave of Machpelah at full price, so he could bury Sarah there. God had promised the land to Abraham's descendants, but Abraham did not yet possess it. By refusing to take the cave as a gift, he was demonstrating faith in God’s covenant promise. He was declaring: "It’s not just borrowed space or a temporary setup—it’s a down payment on God’s covenant oath. It’s a declaration: This land belongs to the God who keeps His word."
