The Soul-Sisterhood
I write a weekly email to my church Life Group, the Soul Sisters, and I decided to go ahead and add those emails as posts here on the blog as well. I am still wanting to do more writing here, but my current schedule hasn't been cooperating with that goal. So, for now, at least I can share these little snippets that I am already writing elsewhere! I hope they will encourage you!
I am always amazed at how the Holy Spirit works and unexpectedly orders our steps. During the message one Sunday, the speaker brought up the parable of The Lost Sheep from Matthew 18 and used it to illustrate how the Father is not just a shepherd, but He is "MY shepherd". He explained that our relationship with the Father - and His relationship with us - is personal and individual. Ya'll, that is the exact message and passage we were teaching in all of the Next Gen elementary, preschool, and nursery classrooms!
The lesson of "The One" shows us that God pays individual attention to each of us: our friendships, thoughts, fears, problems, frustrations, and feelings. He notices everything that happens to us and He acts on our behalf because He cares for us. He chases after us when we run away, and He wants to bring us back so that we can be where He is, because that's where the joy is!
This week, take some time to sit in the idea that God pays individual attention to your life, consider some of the things you are working through, struggling with, or rejoicing in, and thank Him for seeing you and coming after you...no matter what.
Praying blessings and shalom over each and every one of you!
